Doesn’t every on-line dictionary have the simplified and traditional forms? It would be much more prudent to contrast different pronunciations, I think; for example 期;質;切. And if differences in Chinese explanations are needed, you can’t get better than google. Also, there is a new dictionary in China that is challenging (successfully) the “common” dictionary explanations that have been repeated over and over and over again. So which version will be in the Taiwanese government’s dictionary – the new or the redundant? (By the way, Academia Sinica has an on-line Chinese-English dictionary, too, and it’s garbage…I expect this dictionary to be the same.)

On topic: I’m not much impressed with the site so far, though it’s obvious they spent a lot of money on it – on all of the cutesy puppet videos, for example.

My thoughts:
(1) I don’t think it is a government dictionary.
(2) I tested it’s ability to provide differing descriptions of words that are used differently, and it failed miserably.
(3) I tested to see if it could handle differing pronunciations, and it failed miserably. (It did get 質 correctly.)
Back to google 
And one last thing: there doesn’t seem to be any explanations at all, just examples…hahaha
I love the use of mainland putonghua in those videos, though…
