Interesting and straightforward look at the current science on the issue.
@tempogain. You’ll have to do more than just post links, you know! Pick your game up!
I’m a slacker Great video though if one is interested in this stuff.
Randomly posting links is reserved for tango42, no?
At least @Tango42 knows his topics are saved!
The science is pretty clear. If you went through puberty as a male, you have a huge lifelong advantage. A man on average has 40% more upper body muscle mass. A hip structure which generates far more power. Stronger bone density. And there’s good evidence that even your muscle mass building potential remains for life, due to myonuclear domain theory. All of those stay true even if you reduce your testosterone to female levels.
We know there are huge differences between men and women, at both recreational and professional levels of almost every sport. And it’s funny how there are almost no women wanting to compete as a man against other men. It’s surprising that feminists are so silent on this.
The whole idea of trans competing in normal sport against women is just ridiculous. Catering to a tiny % of the population (how many are trans AND an athlete AND need to compete?), at the expense of 50%.
If we really must, then there needs to be a third category. Male. Female. Everybody else. And let’s say that if you really want to compete as a woman, then you can’t keep your meat and two veg either. I think that would filter out most of the opportunists.
