Travel Jump Rope or regular + swim trunks

I need to exercise. any suggestions on where to get a jump rope ideally one that is portable for travel. around either chunghe, shi-da or sogo’s?

regarding the swim gear shops, does any one have a recommendation for one around either chunghe, Shi-Da, or sogo’s?
I need to get some swim trunk rather than the baggy ones for the beach.

I have to ask. What’s the difference between a portable and a non-portable jump rope?

A non-portable one must always be tied to the bed posts.

doh.

sorry its just when I saw this website:

megafitness.com/fast-action- … r0019.html

I started freaking seeing all the options with weighted handles, etc.

um. so looking at that website I guess I am looking for an adjustable length jump rope.

thanks!

In the area you mentioned, have you tried the small sports shop in Shida’s Mandarin Training Center building? (if that still exisits?)

uh don’t know about it. i’ll ask around. thanks!

Try the local gyms like Alexander and California.

Also, if you want to stay in shape traveller consider an exercise band:

Together with a jump rope you can get a full body workout.

My wife said she has seen exercise bands at Alexander.

What IS a jump rope? It’s a goddamn piece of rope. Jeepers! How is that not travellable? Get a damn piece of rope. Stuff it in yer damn luggage. Jeez. :unamused:

Sorry.

My jump rope has weighted handles and if I was backpacking I would not want the extra weight and would instead chose a lighter model.

Um, like a piece of rope?

With weighted handles…aren’t you working out your wrists?

If you want the rope to be “fast action” the technology is in the rope itself, not the handles. That’s why jump ropes with rubber tubing or those sectional plastic tubing jump ropes “swing” faster than regular ropes.

So pretty much, chichow, you just need a regular jump rope. If you want a faster swinging one, then get one with rubber tubing/sectional plastic tubing. As long as it has sturdy handles is fine. Weighted handles? Nah.

Shoulders.

Smart ass. Maybe she should just use dental floss.

For a real workout use a leather jump rope. Encourages constant rotation and no missteps. One misstep will teach you to never do it again. :smiling_imp:

The sports shop on Shida Road has those funky stick-to-you swim trunks. It’s located at about the middle of Shida Road. The Shida University swimming pool also has swimming gear and they often have good discounts.

sorry for thread-digging… but I thought this would be the best place to ask

Any ideas where to get a jump rope for the taller gentleman?

I am over 1.90m and guess the ropes made for locals would be too small.
Any ideas?

I have had great success with using an imaginary jump rope.
Length and speed never seem to be a problem.
And its very portable.
Weight?..never give it a thought…until I use it.
