I’m planning on renting a car on a future Saturday and driving from Taipei to Yuli in Hualien County. Considering likely traffic and a reasonable driving speed, approximately how long will it take to get there (assuming no significant stops along the way)? Thanks.
Seven hours. Maybe longer if a lot of traffic. It’s 4 hours or so to Hualien and then another couple to Yuli. Add in a few breaks and you have a pretty long day. But you could take the Taroko Express train to to Hualien (less than two hours) and then rent a car across the train station at Pony and drive to Yuli.
