My work has a Ricoh Aficio MP 3500 printer. I have full network access from my laptop (they gave me the password so I can work wirelessly), and my laptop can see the printer and has drivers installed. I can access all of the settings via control panel and my browser, but the damn thing just won’t print. I send out the job but it just disappears from the queue on my laptop, and nothing shows on the printer at all. No errors, nothing. Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong? The laptop is Win7 64 bit, fully up to date and firewall open. The work system is XP but that’s all I know. It uses AVAST, but I have no idea how to check if it is letting me use the printer. I figured it was because I could access all the settings without problems.
stop Avast and then try to print and see if that works…
the way that always works for me is to find the printer IP and when using win7 to add new device, find/add the printer using it’s IP address
