TSTAR (台灣之星) vs Taiwan Mobile (台灣大哥大) vs Chunghwa (中華電信) vs

T-star sucks.
Google “circles.life”. They use Chunghua’s network and it’s super cheap

$466 NTD for 1 month unlimited sounds good. Do you know if I can get this card at any physical store instead of ordering it online?

Order it to a 7-11 to r family mart for pickup. Arrives usually within 2-4 days

Only online. Even the customer service is via live chat. The procedure is super simple and the SIM can be delivered to any 7-11. The only problem, if I remember well and unless it changed (mine was 2 years ago), is that it’s all in Chinese.

I found and find the online approach awesome because we don’t have to deal with the usual inconsistent bull***t that human beings give us. The rules are equal for all, Taiwanese and foreigners alike.

just for reference.

our experience is star sucks. slow and very poor nationwide coverage.

everyone we work with uses chunghwa due to coverage issues (they have the widest coverage nation wide). I pay 699/month for unlimited internet.

I had the same experience with them. Funnily, with TStar, my phone almost always kept displaying full bars in Taipei. But often, websites would not load. With CHT, I often have 2-3 bars (out of 4) but websites load fine.

App and everything is in English since I got it about a year ago
