Turtle the Kitten

This is Turtle and she has been living with us since we found her about 5 weeks ago on the side of the road ready to be squashed. She is now about 10- 12 weeks old. She has been vaccinated and treated for ear mites and is now very healthy and active.

We have a small son (10 months) who loves her but as we are likely to move from Taiwan sometime soon it would be better for her to find a permanent home ( ie someone who is here for the life of a cat ).

If you would like to come and meet her please get in touch - PM or 0910 868694

Thanks

That’s great - so glad you’re looking for a permanent home for the little lady.

I’m looking forward to reading that she has been adopted.

Great job! :bravo:  :notworthy:

Someone must want a cute kitten.

So the reality is that soon we will have to make a hard decision about this kitten. Certainly releasing her into some park is irresponsible. From the number of stray, sick and rabid dogs we saw this weekend at the beach and in Walu, some sort of cull is required. Dumping pets back into the environment is inexcusable , inhumane and decimates the native fauna. Many species of small marcupials are under great threat from feral pets.

So whilst we love this little kitten , we are unable to keep it.

Anyone got any ideas or want her?

What methods have you tried so far for finding her a home?

The best way we have found is to sit with the kitten in a pen in a place frequented by lots of people. We go to a busy expat restaurant. Guaranteed to find a home on the first or second try.

Give it a go - it’s always shortly after considering giving up that success comes.

This is sort of my last chance to find this kitten a home.
We are heading back to Aus in several months and have baby 2 on the way so if anyone wants her please let me know.
Thanks

Have you tried Stray Dog’s suggestion yet?

See our website for info on rehoming dogs (and cats).

Have you posted in Forumosafieds? We’ve had a lot of success with that.

Have you e-mailed cute pics to everyone you know in Taiwan and asked them to forward it?

Keep going - imagine how good you’ll feel once Turtle is in a great new home.

Also try a color picture on a Chinese-language flyer to post on bulletin boards. I put up a lot of those to home our 21 Persian cats. And post on other BBS too. Spread the word widely and someone will bite.

If you only post in this thread, on this BBS which is already pretty saturated with strays, I’m afraid you may not have much luck…

Yes Dragonbones you are right _ I better get active, thanks for the advise. Part of the problem is I like having a cat around so I put it off.
Stray Dog - when is the next Animals Taiwan " display " type function on and I will bring her along.
Thanks
Tony

We just lost our regular venue, so bear with me and I’ll let you know.

Stray Dog - Thanks
Maybe Joel needs a bit of company at his appt !! I will ask.
