Tutoring business -- RO or legit local business? (ARC expired!)

Hiya Forumosans,

I opened an RO several years back, but wound up leaving Taiwan for a rather extended stint and recently my ARC has (as of just a few days ago) expired without me being able to return in time to renew it. That business entity has also folded at home, so founding another corp and dealing with embassies and bureaucracy would’ve taken more effort than I was prepared to invest at the time.

But now I have the freedom to do so, and so of course I’d like to get back over to my favorite pacific-rim island. I’d also like to do a bit of tutoring, coaching and consulting while I’m there and not have to worry about any hiccups arising from getting pulled over whilst driving my scooter (I still have a scooter and a TW license, but with me not being a legal resident at the moment…). My plans involve being in Taiwan for the spring and fall each year.

Should I just reincorporate at home and set up another RO, or is there another option that would better suit my aims?
