on average how many does taiwan get during the summer this will be my first summer here earthquakes are nothing I am from LA so they dont bother me i sleep threw most of them. What are they like just rain and wind?
IMO - earthquakes much scarier than typhoons. Not only that, you get warnings for typhoons so you can stay indoors. Or, if you’re insane, go surfing
You could look up the official stats, but we get between zero and four typhoons on average during the season.
More typhoons develop but miss Taiwan or just graze us. Over the past number of years, very few typhoons have really ripped through the north in terms of high winds. Several, however, dumped a significant amount of rain. Nari dumped like four months of rain in 24 hours in 2001, thus all the flooding. Some cities recorded up to 800 mm of rain in a day.
They are nothing to worry about, lots of cool super-hard wind and sometimes lots of rain. Just don’t go sightseeing outside during one. A small piece of flying debris can kill you.
