Off topic, was talking to a mate last night about Ricky Hatton and we decided that his best fight would be against Naseem Hamed, at 168lb. That’s assuming they could both manage to sweat off a stone or two. 
So if GSP doesn’t stop Hardy but beats him on points I still win?

Hamed pissed me off by quitting boxing. He aint game that’s his problem. Ricky is game to the bone win of lose. Hamed was such a great great fighter and he frigging quit after one bad loss. Damn that was bad. So disappointed.

Nasseem was always too cocky to be popular, i guess a certain amount of it is needed in this sport but he took that to a whole new level with somesaults ring entrance and all that crap, should have been in WWF, and not the pet caring kind…

I remember Naz being well popular. Usually by the sort of people who’ve supported Man U since the early 90s, but popular nonetheless.
He was probably a bit like marmite, you either loved him or hated him. I did enjoy watching his ego get the better of him against Barrera, particularly if you watched that documentary about his training preparation for the fight when he was calling Barrera an idiot for training in the mountains whilst Naz trained in an air conditioned mansion. And Eubank giving advice - ‘be wary of the ignorant’ - as he waved his hand in Naz’s direction. Hilarious stuff.
I miss him now, though, he was great entertainment whilst he lasted. I’d disagree that he bottled it after he lost, I think he just knew his reactions had gone and he was no longer prepared to put in the necessary work.

Yah didn’t mean he bottled it just meant he quit that is all. Great ability not game though if you get my meaning. It is easy to be a great fighter when your skill is better than the opponent but you also have to have lots of bottom, gameness or whatever you wish to call it when you start getting the worst of it. So far Khan showed he is game when he came back after the Prescot fight whereas Audley harrison was another case of great talent with no gameness or bottom. Not meant as disrespectful. Hatton is loved cause he just never wants to quit, yes bad for him in the end but he is a true fighter just not quite with the sill to beat a pound for pound best that is all! I predict great things for Khan for he is the dark horse! He got the skill & he got the heart! I also predict he may become one of Britain’s most loved fighters in the end:thumbsup:
By the way BJ Penn quit against GSP. So although he is an ultra brilliant fighter you never know when he will quit and I am a gambling man and get nervous on betting against a possible quitter. Watch the fight of Cung Lee on Saturday and you can see a prime example of gameness versus skill ! Good fight and all stand up even you will enjoy it Tom! I wont tell you the result thoug watch it. He he what a friggin party spoiler

In my opinion it’s actually better for Hatton’s health that he continues fighting. A three month training camp followed by a 2 round KO has to be better for him than piling on 5 stones. At least he stays out of the pub during training.
I never understood Harrison. He had everything necessary to be a top heavyweight, tall, powerful, rangy, awkward southpaw. Lennox Lewis marked him as a future star, but he just didn’t seem to have that certain something inside that a fighter needs.
Khan is beginning to look very special indeed.

Yah the certain thing is being called game or having “bottom”.
As far as Khan goes that loss against Prescott was a god send. As long as they handle him carefully now he will be a great star but another KO loss now would hurt more than help. If handled correctly he will be one huge boxing star.
