UN appoints rep for space aliens

UN appoints representative for space aliens

I guess China didn’t veto.

This is either the coolest job in the world, or the U.N. has finally shown what a complete joke it is.

The UN has been a total joke and a disaster since 1971 when China was given a permanent seat with the power of veto. Yep that sounds logical, we won’t allow 23 million HUMAN BEINGS representation in the UN, but lets all hail ALIENS from ANOTHER PLANET. Yeah that’s not a waste of money, not even a little bit.

ninman, the U.N. is not a governing authority. give it a break. Why is it so important for taiwan to be in U.N. ??

Don’t you know the UN is the secret world government that rules the Earth through the New World Order? Here’s all the proof you need from the bleedin’ genius that brought us Spare Change.

This is not good, Taiwan needs a space rep too. Vote HHII for Taiwan space rep! (North Korea is still free if anybody wants that position).

Well, no matter how tiny the chances are for getting in contact with aliens, this brings up the question; if aliens landed on earth and said ‘take us to your leader’, who would we take them to?

If they landed in China and thereby ended up being led to Hu Jintao, I don’t think the rest of the world would trust him to be a representative of the earth’s population.

If the UN didn’t do this, what would be the right way of preparing a unified response to aliens from the earth’s population?

Who says aliens aren’t already here? Anyway…why would they ask for a representative?

If they choose to openly present themselves as aliens, I doubt they’ll come as tourists asking for a place to hang out. And it’s common procedure for two powers that meet to have their leaders speak. Haven’t you played Civilization?

Good question. But would ET’s need representation? Or would they send out their own diplomats to various countries? If they only wanted to study us, they’d probably just visit places and ask questions. But if they wanted something like resources, they might go to one country and make trade. I see the only reason we’d need UN reps for aliens is if the aliens attacked us because then we’d be unified, hopefully, in a response.

Aliens could be so advanced compared to humans they probably would be very different in their motivations to us. They may not be able to ‘debate’ with us, much as we could not ‘debate’ with an ant. Nor do they have any need to debate since they are so advanced in the first place! In fact it’s well within the bounds of possibility aliens are in the vicinity of Earth or even here but we don’t recognise/detect them yet. Why not?

Let’s say we have a District 9 situation in the US. I.e. a spaceship full of alien refugees arrives. In District 9, the South African government hired a private military company (MNU) to manage the situation. I guess the equivalent would be that the US government hired Blackwater to manage the situation. I would predict other countries objecting to how the situation was managed, but there is no international agreement on how to deal with aliens, so it would be up to the US on how they dealt with them.

True. So, the real debatable question might be: is it reasonable to make this “alien rep” position at this time? Or is it just another opportunity for graft at the UN? Think of all the other UN representatives we need for things that we aren’t able to communicate with- animals, plants, zombies…

Aren’t we all aliens, except for a few converts? I’ve got a fancy glossy I.D. card that says that I am.

Any employee of the U.N. represents me equally as well as anyone from China, i.e. not at all. Furthermore, if an alien’s first impressions of humans were being taken to the U.N., we’d all be written off completely.

U.N. is NOT the secret world govt ! It’s way too democratic of an organization for that to happen.

The secret world govt is IMF and WTO.

Don’t hide behind facts with me, young man. If it’s gone viral, that’s all the facts I need.

Seems to me that the representative of the space aliens is going to be forced to be a relatively honest politician. I mean, I think his constituency’s gonna be pretty slim pickings for bribes and the like.

But as Fats Waller said, “One never knows, do one?”
