I tried to open myspace today and it can’t be accessed.
If I type in the url it returns me to my homepage.
Are websites being blocked in Taiwan?
I had to open the site via a proxy, but unfortunately couldn’t use the music player.

It’s been happening for a month now…same thing in Japan. It goes directly to Google. Don’t know why.
probably doing y’all a favor.
I only use it to check out new releases of songs of bands I like that are streamed there first.
Otherwise it’s not used.
I can’t find anything on the web about this, so it makes me think google are blocking the search results for this problem.
I was able to open it fine in IE, not FF. Don’t know why.
I use FF.
But I have the same problem with IE.
Then I don’t know what to say: perhaps it’s being blocked by your AV software not your browser or anti-malware software…
your computer is protecting you.
I think it’s the ISP. At my place I have ADSL with CHT and it does the redirect back to google.com (my default homepage, coincidentally). However, at work where the ISP presumably is not CHT there are no redirects.
I unistalled all my AV and anti spyware/malware software and the same problem exists.
If it’s the ISP I will be looking at changing it.
Blocking Myspace - ridiculous
I use Hinet by the way.
usually peoples so passionate about MySpace would cut their wrists, hope you won’t be so daft
I was able to view My space in IE, not FF, but … I DO use hinet… And it’s showing up today in FF.
It’s likely somekind of configuration error … it seems resolved.
I’ve been having the same problem recently. Almost every time I try to go to MySpace, I get redirected to Google. I have tried the following browsers so far, and it happens on all of them:
Firefox
Internet Explorer
Opera
Google Chrome
Since it happens with all four browsers, I don’t think the problem is caused by the browser. And I don’t think the Taiwan government blocks any websites, at least I hope not. So I can’t figure out why it’s doing this.
The only way that I have found to access MySpace is to use a proxy server, but that’s a nuisance. (I tried using isurfproxy.com and it worked.)
By the way, my ISP is Hinet FTTB 10/2 Mbps.
