Unemployment Claim for Foreigner Teaching p/t with APRC

Hi, Sorry if this has been answered already, I couldn’t find the thread. I’m a foreigner with an APRC teaching part-time. I lost approx. 40 or so hours due to the restrictions put in place mid-May.
Am I eligible for UE benefits? Would I check with the Labor Board in my city? Thanks for any input.

I’d do so.

If your spouse is a ROC citizen, you are supposed to be insured to employment insurance with a usual employment contract. If it is a commission contract or something special, it can be possible that your employer avoids it.

If your spouse is not a citizen, maybe no, but I’m not sure.

Thanks Tando, My wife is an ROC citizen. I was not given/offered a contract, so nothing was ever signed. Was paid by check and had taxes taken out by a well-established high school in my city, so it was not a cash/under the table gig. I have a feeling that the school never covered any UE insurance for us p/t teachers so I think we’re
S out of L. I’ll check with the Labor Board nonetheless.
