Unrestricted PRC passports for Taiwan nationals?

Would getting a PRC passport and effectively loosing Taiwan citizenship then allow one to avoid conscription?

Yes that is fine, my spouse is the Taiwanese citizen and is becoming American. We have nothing to do with Taiwan, he was actually born in Taipei but raised in Shanghai. However he does have some relatives there and would like to see them after he becomes American citizen. As China doesn’t recognize dual citizenship he would essential be only American after naturalizing as American if I understand correctly.

Why don’t you check other options first?
