Would getting a PRC passport and effectively loosing Taiwan citizenship then allow one to avoid conscription?
Seems like a painful and long-winded way to avoid conscription with possible unintended consequencesâŚ
Yes that is fine, my spouse is the Taiwanese citizen and is becoming American. We have nothing to do with Taiwan, he was actually born in Taipei but raised in Shanghai. However he does have some relatives there and would like to see them after he becomes American citizen. As China doesnât recognize dual citizenship he would essential be only American after naturalizing as American if I understand correctly.
