Hi everyone!

This is my first post here. I joined because I will be studying Mandarin at the NCCU for 6 months. I’m still looking for a decent place to stay at. I heard a lot about the iHouse but mostly not so great things. so I’m wondering if it’s gotten better now?

I’m thinking of staying there to get the double room or just stick to the Homestay with Merry’s Homestay. The homeowner is supposedly a retired professor of NCCU. Has anyone heard of this Homestay too? How was it?

Depends on you and what you want.

IHouse was the only choice we had…30 years ago. It is far away, isolated up in the mountain. Transportation is not convenient.

Homestay may not be the best choice if you are independent. Moreover, most folks work all day, so you’ll be struck with amah and learn a lot of Taiwanese, in the best case scenario.
