Upgrading rear brake to disc break

I’m thinking about changing my rear brake to a disc brake system. I feel that my brake system isn’t really balanced, front tends to brake out … don’t tell me its’ me because I’ve been driving a long time on other bikes without having this problem …

If I can believe the mechanic it would cost me about 11K NT$.

motorbike or bicycle?

hello … vroom, vroom … , scooter (Majesty)

In my opinion I wouldn’t bother with the rear disk brake. Really the rear brake is the least effective brake. The front is where you want to upgrade. If you already have a front disk, which I think you do, then you should upgrade to a bigger disk and caliber. That will take care of your braking problems. I don’t think you will notice shit from a rear disk. Before you do this, try a couple of things. Bleeding your brake system and putting all new brake fluid in…also research a more aggressive pad that doesnt have as much brake fade as a stock pad does…try this first, then check out what Brembo has to offer.

I think my front disk comes too strong sometimes, resulting in blocking the wheel.

Never ever had this problem with other scooters or bikes. :frowning:

I really dont understand this…so your front disk is blocking your wheel? So you thought that adding a rear disk brake would solve your problem. What do you mean your fornt disk brake comes on too strong and it is blocking that wheel. This makes no sense???

Anyway, I agree that upgrading the back brake wouldn’t help. If the front brake is locking, that means that most of the weight is on the front, so increasing the braking power on the back would not really slow the bike down more quickly or efficiently.

It might be worth getting better tires, but apart from that I am guessing that it’s just a case of getting used to the powerful front brake and developing sensitivity in its use.
