We’ve saved the best for last as Urban Nomad heads into the
home stretch with 2 weeks left.
This Saturday, we present “The Yes Men”, a hilarious documentary
about an activist group by the same name. Many have seen
their hilarious installation in museum where they develop a special
survival suit for Haliburton as well as pose as a Dow Chemical executive
on CNN.
This film is a year in the life of these anti-corporate pranksters as
they impersonate WTO spokesmen and attend business conferences
around the world, always with startling effect.
If that weren’t enough, we will be presenting some homegrown,
indie stuff from Portland, Oregon. Our hook-up at the Homeland Gallery
promises that some of the films are a world premier. There are ape suits,
doctors playing with a brain made out of jello, and lots of special effects
We begin with the short program at 7:30 p.m., followed by a short break
and the feature.
