URGENT! Traveling to China, please help

Hi all,

I am traveling to China (Shanghai) on Thursday. I just realized I forgot to stamp my Tai-bao zhen (taiwan citizen travel pass). I have both Taiwan and also EU (european) passport. Is there a landing visa or landing Tai-bao stamp available in Shanghai or HK airport? I only have about an hour in the HK airport, so I doubt I have time to go outside.

Please help!!

There is a CTS (China Travel Service) on your far left (as you face away from the departure gates) on the departure floor.

Here’s a number. Better to call them cos although they say arrivals, I’m sure it’s on the departure floor.
China Travel Service (HK) Ltd visa issuing offices at the airport are the fast, convenient way to get a visa to the China mainland. Taiwan residents re-entry visas, officially known as ‘Mainland Travel Permit for Taiwan Residents’, are processed in about an hour while other applicants need wait only four to five hours. However this is much quicker than the time required if the application is made down town.

While the office at the restricted area handles visa application for Taiwanese residents only, the landside counter handles all kinds of visa applications. The CTS counter will also arrange hotel reservations in Hong Kong, Macau and all major cities in China. Tickets for cross-border bus services can also be bought there.
No idea what you can do in Shanghai.

HG

Great, thanks. Does anybody know about Shanghai?

huh? you cant fly direct into China. So unless you are flying in thru Macau HGCs advice is the best way.

Takes 6 hours to get a visa in HKG. Not sure, if you can actually get to China without a valid visa or Taibaozhen

It’s on the arrival floor surrounded by several other booths. It’s the Chunghwa Travel office that’s on the departure floor. Sorry for bringing up an old post… :stuck_out_tongue: The one on the north concourse is only for Taiwanese, I believe.

Yup… the one in the concourse is for ROC citizens only. Go down to arrivals and if you pick the one on the far left, just jump back upstairs to pacific coffee to wait. Also, if you need an electric plug - sit behind the sign against the left wall. It is one of like 2 plugs where you can sit comfortably outside of departures for free.

I thought only Taiwanese needed a Taibaozheng; everyone else needs their national passport and a visa.

Yeah. It sucks. Don’t go.
