Hmm, we did my son’s “renewal” on April 13. Still waiting, although my wife said a week ago that she got a notification it had been sent from the US? When we renewed they said 5 weeks so we’re still inside that window
sounds like we both renewed right around the same time… I had a similar experience (except no problems with my name). It’s easier than what I remember from the last time ten years ago, and the only thing I did differently was go to a professional studio to get my photo taken… I wasn’t sure if I could find a machine with the right size but I think they’re out there. Oh well, maybe I could have saved a little money but I think it was better to take a little less risk and get it done right, no problems with anything, very smooth service overall and quicker than I expected. All in all, I think it took 2 weeks for the whole process.
Maybe kid passports take longer for whatever reason, maybe they have to take extra security measures for minors or something? You should probably get it any day now, hopefully this week.
I just mailed mine in today. I hope it’s quick. My Mom’s health isn’t great so it would be great to have the passport in hand in case I need to fly back soon.
BTW, having to pay them $220 nt in cash upon delivery has me a bit concerned. I guess I’ll talk to the guard where I live in about a week and give him the money. We did this just a few months ago for my daughter so everything should be okay.
That’s a good idea. Did you choose a delivery time on the form? I did and chose the latest delivery time (I think it was after 4PM). But sure enough, the delivery driver called me at 9AM! A lot of good that did. Fortunately I happened to be home that day at that time, but perhaps I should have just left it with the building guard.
