US > TW: Visa-free entry OK for short business trip?

If someone is coming here from the US on a 3-day business trip, is it OK for them to just do visa-free entry? Or are they supposed to get some kind of business visa?

Also, what purpose of visit should they check on the landing form that gets stapled in their passport?

Thanks for any info.

Visa-free entry is fine - he’ll be good for 30 days. What reason they tick on the form is irrelevant, as long as they don’t tick ‘drug dealing.’

Thanks, HooknSinker. But if he checks “business” on the landing form, do you think he might be asked to show an invitation letter or something like that?
