A vet acting like this is akin to a doc killing people for sport. I am glad she was fired. She should lose her vet license also.

Jesus.
That’s some hardcore. Let alone posting a picture about it…
Hey, i agree with her. feral tomcats are a menace. In Australia i would shoot them with a 22-240 (legally, and be encouraged to do so), but an arrow works just as well.
cats are not native to America, and are not part of the normal ecosystem. They eat food that coyotes or martens should have. Often they are in high density and devastate local bird and reptile populations.
Same as Australia. At one point I shot them for research programs on ecosystem management. I love cats, but as inside pets only. Outside cats are a death sentence for local small wildlife.

Completely agree. Cats are destroying various bird species in U.S. Cats should not be let out of house to spend all night hunting birds.
My house in Taiwan is the meeting point for some cats who run around outside my house every night. One killed a fluffy bunny rabbit we were trying to save (we found it on the road near our house). The cats just kill for fun, not food, as too many people leave food for them. I don[t want to kill them but would like to trap them if possible but have been unsuccessful to find the large traps. But I also notice the neighbor down the road who feeds the cats and the babies are popping up…
Sadly that is very true. Many cats are just plain killers. NOt killing for food as mentioned, just KILLERS period. And I guess they need to be taken out. They do kill a lot of birds and other animals that are important to the ecosystem.
Housecats should be kept indoors at all times and walked outside on a leash , like I do with my cat.
I dont allow him to go out by himself. Luckily though, being so rotund (didn’t want to say fat) he can’t really catch anything. A mouse can easily outrun him.
But other cats are notorious killers. BBC had a tv program on some brit cats . And they talked about one who was let out nightly (pretty common) killing up to a dozen or so birds each night.
The owner should keep him indoors. Housecats have no business being let out to freely roam.
Still, its probably not a good image to have, if one is a vet to have a cat with an arrow through its head on ones facebook.
I’d not be choosing her as my cats doc.
What they do here is trap and neuter and release. This way at least no babies are being born (or fewer anyway).
Well folks… that’s sad and gruesome. Maybe there is still a chance for her to loose her license. There is a petition ongoing here:
She’s doing better for the local wildlife than most people would. Leave her alone. An arrow to the head: well done, that’s a quick kill.
WTF is that petition about: bleeding hearts with NFI about reality. don’t sign it, please.

YOUR reality, not reality…
How arrogant to believe that wildlife requires human interference to thrive. Beyond this: only an intellectually challenged individual would post such an image on social media today - especially as a vet.
Petition or not: she lost her job, well deserved so and it will be challenging for her to find a new one (at least as a vet) given her glorious reputation all over the net.
An arrow to the head - why? was that necessary…? for fun? Oh yeah… you enjoy playing the combined role of a “tough hunter” plus “academic genius”. Shooting animals (legally) with a 22-240 under the guise of a “research program”. Great tales to tell over Friday night beer with your buddies eh…
