We rented Cheaper by the Dozen and Cheaper by the Dozen 2 yesterday. I’d never seen them before and they were good picks. Can’t go wrong with Steve Martin and (when picking a movie for our girl) a whole swarm of kids full of crazy hijinks in a G-rated family movie. ![]()
Parenthood was good for the same reason, except that it had a little more sex and it had that stupid diarhea song, which the Steve Martin character found so annoying in the movie and which my wife and I soon felt the same way about, since our girl’s gotten a kick out of repeating it over and over herself.
I got some DVDs of The Wiggles for my Monster, and I think they’re great, but hardly ever let him watch them. We only ever put it on really when we’re both hung-over or sick or something like that and can’t give him quality time anyway.
He’s not a TV person anyway, which I think is fantastic. He’s a very active boy, and loves climbing and exploring and getting into all the wrong places. If I put the TV on, he’ll usually watch about 5 minutes of it then wander off and do something else, or start turning the TV on and off repeatedly, thus quickly causing it to get unplugged.
I would love to get some old copies of The Muppets, or Fraggle Rock. The shows I think were great, but the movies are a bit too staid and beyond him at this stage.
