Can i do visa runs on a visa exempt entry on my passport?
Is it possible i can keep doing this on my UK passport every 90 days? i want to do this until i can find work of begin studying.
I know iv did it once already and renewed my 90 days but is there any kind of year limit
of how long i can stay in taiwan? like 180 days a year? or i can stay ovewr the 180 day without worries?

but that was possible the price tag, so Taiwan people can enter UK and Ireland
without a VISA …

Their agreements with Taiwan weren’t carried out by the British.
Man I wish they would give 90 days to US citizens instead of the very short 30 days currently. Maybe when the USA gives Taiwan citizens Visa Free entry into the USA. And however many days they get will determine what US citizens will get in Taiwan.
It was a reciprocal agreement between Taiwan and the UK. But Taiwan got the better part of the deal:
The UK granted Taiwan citizens visa exempt entry to the UK for 6 months (180 days) each time.
Taiwan also granted UK citizens 180 days visa exempt entry, but when the small print made it into the open it was 90 days, extendable for another 90 days - which later became ‘possibly’ extendable for another 90 days.

Yes what happened there? But does the UK only allow TW citizens 180days a year stay in UK or some such restriction?
Otherwise, the foreign office should complain no? If the UK grants Taiwanese 180 days visa free, they should demand the same. Not this 90 days now and 90days later Bs?
But 90 days is a lot better then 30 days no less. Still the UK citizens should get reciprocal. 180 days for 180 days, nothing less.
Sounds like the FO got shafted by some taiwanese negotiating tactics.
There probably aren’t that many Taiwan citizens queuing up for a 6 month holiday in the u.k. but plenty of British coming to Taiwan on the visa exempt rule, so maybe MOFA thought they should tighten the restrictions a bit to get things more balanced

I remember in the past a visa-exempt entry on your passport wasn’t convertable to a resident visa (for work) / ARC etc. and to get the ARC visa-exempt or landing visa holders had to make a visa-run to get an EXTENDABLE 60-Day visa (in Hong Kong, Macau, UK, etc) and enter on that to apply for their work ARC.
Maybe its changed recently as part of broader immigration law changes, or maybe not. You should call the Taiwan immigration department’s ‘Information For Foreigners’ hotline (886-800-024-111) and ask them the question before you buy any plane tickets, or you just might have to fly out a second time. better safe than sorry!

Also, I think whoever told you about a 180 day limit/restriction on staying in Taiwan on visa-exempt entry is confusing it with the requirements for applying for a 90 day extension to an existing 90-day visa exempt entry. If you leave Taiwan and enter again with a UK passport you are getting a new 90-day visa exempt entry at the airport - there are no limits/restriction on that! IFAIK

So they thought they would try with the 90 day approach. But the FO should demand a timetable for 180 day visa free or else the visa free for TW citizens will also be rolled back to 90 days. Quid pro quo or squid for pro or something like that.
Rumor has it that the US was going to allow TW passport holders visa-free entry into the country if Taiwan allowed US beef imports.
