If I wanted to take just 2 weeks of lessons from a private language school in Taipei, could I do it with a visa waiver? I am a UK citizen, so that would mean a 14 day stay, right?
FYI, I will have been in Taiwan on a 60 day extendable visa to study at TLI, btu then I am gonig to Australia and just want to go back for a final few days without the hassle of getting a new visa in Sydney.

You can have 30 days on a UK passport. The visa-free entry was extended from 14 to 30 days last year. As long as you have a ticket out within the 30-day period you will be fine.
Note that if you come in this way (ie without any visa at all) you CANNOT apply to extend you stay in Taiwan beyond 30 days!
