Visit in Taipei for 9 weeks

I want to welcome everyone here, today I have found this forum and its really useful.
I’m going to work as a intern in Taipei and right now I I am trying to find information about Taiwan.

I know that whole island is beautiful, but unfortunately I will have limited time and I can’t decide what should I see/ do during my stay in Taipei.
I’m really into whole culture and some sightseeing.

Should I focus more on northern part of Taiwan ??
Is southern part worth seeing too ?? I mean, i know that traveling is going to cost fortune but Tainan as cultural capital of Taiwan seems to be nice place to visit.

I’m really confused on this one.

I would appreciate your advice/opinions on this one

B

Tainan is definitely worth a visit. And travel doesn’t have to cost a fortune: there are good bus and train services that are quite economical, and inexpensive lodging in downtown Tainan.

Thank you for info Chris,

What are best spots to see and things to do near Taipei ??

That’s rather too long a topic for one thread. You can get a good idea by reading through the posts in this forum.

You should also get a guidebook. The Lonely Planet and Bradt guides are both good; and their authors frequent this site.

Oh, and not all of Taiwan is beautiful – especially the west coast and the cities. But plenty of it is.

And, yes, do go to Tainan. For someone interested in culture, a trip to Taiwan without seeing Tainan would be incomplete.

thank you guys !!

I stay in Guishan Taoyuan right now I realized how far it is from Taipei…damn
But according to wikipedia it has very good transport system, is that right??
