I got a really late start on my (economic) gold card application–applied June 16–so don’t think it will get approved in time to book flights and clear quarantine by mid-August, when my kid’s school would start. With visas opening up to some extent tomorrow, I was thinking about applying for the family first in a different category, such as “visiting family.” My wife’s sister lives there and is a permanent resident. Any thoughts on whether that type of visa would clear faster, or if that is even one of the categories that is reopening?
