Most of the Filipino coffee growers are clueless, but there’s a growing number of them who have realised that just stripping the beans off (whether they’re ripe or not) and selling them for a few pesos is a mug’s game. Bo’s Coffee, I believe, sources their beans from select local growers who know what they’re doing. Bean Leaf also buy locally, but their coffee is vile - I’m guessing because they buy at the lowest possible price from the clueless idiots.
There’s a coffee-grower in my area who supplies only high-end stuff to restaurants and coffee-shops. He’s got more orders than he can cope with, simply because there are so few people doing it right.
