Wack Things in Taiwan 2019

You must be joshing me.

Taiwan is one of the few places in the world where people will put something out for sale and let you just put the money in a box. There is nothing like Taiwan there I said it.

more importantly whats up with Pete’s Pizza because Taiwan has the wackest pizza on the planet.

Not a Taiwan thing…just for fun…

Today while at a stoplight I heard extremely loud music from car next to me on the left…so I took a look at the car. I noticed a “What would Jesus do?” sticker on the car. When the light turned green the car took off very fast and was soon speeding very quickly…surely much faster than the speed limit. Then I noted he quickly swerved over through my lane to stop on side of road at a betel nut stand displaying a very scantily clad teenager advertisement.

My wife started making jokes about Jesus would decide to speed on his way to buy betel nut at such a great store.

I can see the film trailer now: Jesus of Formosa.

(For those of you who have not see it, I highly recommend Jesus of Montreal.)

Not in Taiwan. They more likely come from the Formosa petrochemicals plant.

I’m American and I’ve never done this in my life.

That’s a practice borrowed from Japan.

Me either. I’m right handed, but if I’m eating something that needs to be cut with a knife I’ll put the fork in my left hand, cut with my right, and the left hand’s fork goes straight to my mouth. Has nothing to do with etiquette, it’s just a matter of life’s too short.

I’m right-handed. I hold the fork in my right hand to move food from plate to mouth, and hold the knife in my left hand to cut with. There they stay until I put them down.

Josh Hu , Me? :yum:

I saw this in the US all the time for things like produce (especially corn and pumpkins) and firewood. Granted that was in rural areas not the middle of a city.

’ University team invents beef noodle cooking machine’

‘The invention of a machine that can automatically cook beef noodle soup in one minute could help promote Chinese cuisine around the globe …’

‘The current price tag for the machine stands at NT$1 million [US$32,461], but we expect that buyers would be able to break even within two years …’ Ha, most businesses last 3-6 months.

Really? A human can do that. Give me some more soup you piece of metal!
