Wack Things In Taiwan 2021

He mentioned he needed to stand out from the crowd, and that his target audience was (male) college students. Seems to have worked for him.

People’s ability to stare at their phone in almost every situation imaginable is quite impressive. I see a lot of young guys at the urinals who keep their phones out while relieving themselves.

It’s disgusting what guys do with their phones in the restrooms. How the hell do you wash your hands properly while holding a phone to watch some inane video? :face_vomiting:

Wash?

A wise man once said that he washed his hands before he relieved himself. Auto flush urinals made that dream a reality.

Except for the TV channel blurring the logo of an obvious delivery company, what’s wack about that?
Maybe it should be here instead?

Police bodyguard brandishes firearm in Sanchong

Bodyguards assigned to protect a current or former official are required to carry a firearm and the officer apparently drew the weapon in response to a potential threat to Wang, he said, citing the National Police Agency’s preliminary report.

The threat mentioned in the article seems to be:

…decelerating on an off-ramp of the Sanchong Cloverleaf when he was overtaken by a black sedan.
After Wu sounded his horn, the two vehicles proceeded to a branch of Taishin International Bank on Sanhe Road when a man in the front passenger seat of the black sedan reportedly drew a gun.

The incident did not result in a police chase or any arrests, and the police officer had reacted to a potential threat to Wang’s life, the 6th Special Police Corps said in a statement.

Surely the government knows how this reads. The disadvantaged disproportionately ride electric scooters. The SEA workers near me ride them everywhere.

The most dangerous place in Taiwan is a crosswalk.

I guess they tried to say ‘don’t charge them indoors’. Crappy batteries can catch fire while charging. That could be deadly during the night.

There is still time until bilingual nation 2030! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

They can catch fire just sitting there.

The electrical setups and sockets in Taipei apartments could possibly be worse in my experience.

Are you trying to privately charge your electric bike?

It’s fine.

Nothing to see here!

Electrical outlets inside showers? No problem.

Construction workers with their electrical cords fully immersed in mud puddles while working? Not an issue!

Sure doesn’t help in Taichung where residents get free 10km. on bus and only max 10NT for a single trip if they go over 10km. Residents apparently doesn’t include foreigners…so they have to pay full fare even if they live and work in Taichung unless they are married to a local or are a student (student exemption also applies to Taiwanese students).

Exoskeleton suit for soldiers? Are we supposed to beat the commie hordes through tactical deep knee bends?

A better tactic would be to arm every single resident so we can carry out guerilla hit and runs and wear down the commies will to fight over time. Many of the PRC military members are inexperienced crybaby boys.

Hide in the shadows, shoot one dead and then evaporate until the next time.
