Please note the young cop is not wearing gloves…sigh

Such a handsome guy. Double sigh.

Edit:

My mistake. CNA pic has him wearing black gloves. I breathe a sigh of relief.

Why on earth would he need to be wearing gloves?

This is why we need better drug education. No, you can’t get a contact high from touching wild mushrooms. Believe me, I’ve tried.

Were they afraid that people would take them to ingest? Were they a toxic variety? That would explain the flashing lights on the police car and the full body armor.

Nanny state, Taiwan style.

Might even be edible as they look a little like shaggy parasol mushroom.

Oh you can eat them, but it will be the last meal in your life.

Very, very poisonous, if I wasn’t clear.

They should have sent some people from Pingtung Agricultural University or similar to study the conditions of propagation of this particular “mushrooms”.

My friend in Singapore tells me they are fairly common there and are dealt with just as promptly.

Now you’ve got me curious, can you find out what they are? Or what they are believed to be.
They do not look like poisonous type I’m familiar with (death caps, destroying angel, and deadly galerina), but I’m a bit rusty and my little bit of knowledge is generally north american fungi, so I could easily be way off base.

looking closer they appear less like a shaggy parasol and more like an agaric field mushroom. Hard to tell.

similar looking ones pop up in a local park, always in the same spot.

Maybe @Explant can shed some light
