I’m just curious if any of you have found any relation between the use of Wade-Giles romanization in Taiwan and incorrect English pronunciation by English students. Personally, I don’t find that Wade-Giles maps as well to English phonetics as HanYu PinYin, so I wonder if this poor mapping negatively affects Taiwanese students English pronunciation. I don’t even know if they use it or to what extent, but I interested in any observations, nonetheless.
Thanks,
Jack
