I hate antibiotics… I mean okay, if I am dying from TB or whatever I would love to have some, but you know, if not you probably dont want any… Here is where it started… I went to a dermatologist in Danshui, because I had a mosquito bite that had turned into a pussack, and I was concerned it could get worse. So the doctor drained the pussack, and prescribed some antibiotics to you know, prevent infections. I was given some called “Tidact (Cleocin)” and another called “Scanol -500 (Napaton)” and some Gentamycin cream. I took the antibiotics hoping to prevent gangerene or whatever, but stopped after about 2 doses. But then 2 days later I started getting rashes all over (read the thread on “good doctors in Taiwan”) and I did some research on Cleocin… read it for yourself.
Should I nail that doctor for malpractice? I think If I took anymore of that stuff I could have gotten a serious condition! I just hope the rash goes away cause I went to several clinics, and just had a shot (which presumably its some kind of steroids… thats what they use to treat allergies). I hope this works cause I hate skin rashes more than anything (well that and drowzieness cause it makes it VERY hard to work a job)
Malpractice for what? The side effects? All the side effects listed on that page are something you can find for almost every drug.
Only thing maybe he should have done is told you if there are any side effects to stop taking it and come back.
I did notice on that page this medication is for serious infections.
It’s likely somthing more mild should have been used but I think the small clinics often use the most powerful stuff.
Big hospitals usually go more by the books.
I got it when I HAD to go to the docter because I had sutch a serious condition(a cold witch I newer trough my whole childhod had treated) acording to the so.
I got them with the dentist because I had a infection in the gums next to my visdom and had them again when I had the visdom pulled.
I have a large colection now since I newer take them.
Why do you nead scantol for a insect bite annyway. Dos it hurt that mutch?
I also worry about the antibiotics. I got a cure off chapalexin from the dentist to get reath off the infection and when I arived one week later I was x-rayed to get the tooth out so I would not nead to get the infection annymore. I had it for 10 year and it come and go and I have newer gotten anny medicine for it and now he give me a second cure and tell me to start in in 3 days or else I wont have enough befour I come back and get the tooth pulled out. They don’t have resistent bacteria here I gues.
After I had the tooth pulled I get chapelexin again :loco: to prevent me from getting a infection.
3 week’s on the same antibiotics can’t be good. I lost 3kg because my stomac is bad from that bloody antibiotics.
I feel lucky everytime I made it to toilet in time
So can someone tell me what is scantol or scanol? I searched on google and medicine plus and drug facts and could not find ANYthing related to this drug… or is there a generic name or something?
I was given Diclocin for a severe bacterial infection, what we call a boil or carbuncle.Lymph glands swollen, fever, headaches etc etc
Boy did my sh** turn to water.
The bugger failed to tell me beforehand. Doesn’t that sound familiar ?
Thankfully I drank(and drink) a lot of water etc and no beer.(only this time)
