Former top spot guy Lee Teng-hui said the other day, quoted in the Taipei Times, that “Lien Chan was PREDESTINED not become the president of Taiwan…” as if God were watching over the island, determining destiny and fate, and of course, since Lee is a certified Christian, he is on intimate terms with the Godhood. He would know, if anyone would, since Lee himself was apparently DESTINED to lead Taiwan for 12 years and more.
Strong word: PREDESTINED. Did he really say that? Or was it this a mis-translation of the actual Chinese word he used? How to say PREDESTINED in Chinese? Does it mean predestined as if God has determined this, or predestined as in the universal all-seeing destiny of the world determined this?
And today, in The Taiwan Post (also called the CHINA POST erronenously by some people), Alex Tsai of the KMT uses Bible verse to lambast Christian Elder Lee and calls him a frowarding hypocrite among other things. And when asked if Lien Chan was predestined NOT to become president this time or last time, as Lee claimed, Tsai said “It’s not destiny. Someone fraudulently won the election… and we don’t think God will forgive him!”
So now God is on both sides, keeping Lien Chan from the Mandate of Heaven throne, while at the same time as never forgiving Chen Shui-bian for stealing the election. Wow, is God ever in a hot seat now?
Next move is Lee TEng-hui’s. He will probably cite chapter and verse again and tell the KMT to fcuk off.
And what the hell is ‘‘frowardness’’? Not ‘‘forwardness’’, I know.
