Watching the Rugby World Cup 2007

I take it the RWC will not be on any of the local cable channels, only cable. Therefore will be a lot of late nights at the bars, I guess… not all that good seeing as I just gave up beer!

I remember seeing something on The Rugby Channel’s website:

mediazone.com/channel/rugby/ … /index.jsp

about showing the RWC, I also received an email from them stating a price of 49.99 US$ for the tournament… Have been watching the ANZC and the Currie Cup on this and the quality is pretty good. However, now when I look at their website I can’t find any mention of the RWC… have they lost the rights?

Oh well… in Taichung the Londoner, La Bodega, and Fubar will be showing games I think…

What are others doing in terms of RWC watching options…

Cheers!

ooh… just found this in relation to internet coverage…

rwcplus.com/

Cheers

Isn’t there a satellite option that can be installed at home?

Unfortunately I can’t get line-of site to the satellites…

anyway… I have a very strong suspicion the RWC will now be on Star Sports…

I was in the gym the other day and Star’s “Coming in September” ad came up - including rugby saying “IRB” and then something in Chinese… I’m not aware of any other international rugby in September…

I then went to the ESPNStar website - TV Times… reset my computer clock to september 1st (as ESPNStar.com will only allow two weeks in advance search) and sure enough there were all the listings for RWC games!!! Although not that many were live, times of replays were also not good for those of us that work… but can always record the games…

woohoo!!

things are looking up…

Cheers!

Whoa … I’m off to try that. Thanks!

Cheers cricket for posting the schedule… didn’t think about that!

Are we the only 2 people excited about the RWC?!?!?!?!

Who said I was excited?

Well Smooth has no satellite dishes but they get Supersports and another package. Line of sight is never an issue.

Seems this would be a little like bathing with your socks on, or kissing your sister.
Whats the point?

"Rugby World Cup 2007 on Broadband Video
All 48 matches on 24-hour delay
Previews, highlights, and interviews
Classic clips from the RWC archive

View all purchase options"

I concur. Paying for delayed coverage is not my idea of a good idea.

it might be worth keeping an eye on the Australia Network (AN) channel on digital cable. They play a fair few international rugby games and some Super 14. Other than that it will be the Brass Monkey for me.

Was that Taiwan time?

Yes. Yes it was.

PS. Could you change your avatar? It scared the crap out of me

Australia Network will not be showing any of the RWC as they only have the rights to the games played in the Southern Hemisphere

Oooh, Satellite TV, this will be a good time to jump in and do some serious selling. I promise I’ll be nice this time!
I might be interested in watching the games this time. Are the All Black guys still the cutest? Which team will be wearing the most revealing costumes? Time for some serious boy on boy action! Yeah!

Wrong thread, sonshine.

We show the following games at the Tavern-Premier and o’Ginny’s. At the Tavern-Premier we have added another 12 Flat Screen TVs to accomodate more sports. We will have some great promotions running which will be announced on our homepage and English Newspapers on September 7th.
