I’m in Taipei (Neihu) WCIF a place to look at my Android smartphone? And fix it?
The screen has gone “iffy”. All I get are lines on the screen (and no text) for a couple of minutes, and then it’s fine. Touch interface works fine, even while the screen is opaque with the lines.
I figure that a connection is loose inside the phone, or I kept it in my sweaty pockets too long.
Ideas, anyone?
You could visit Guanghua Market near the Zhongxiao Xinsheng MRT station. It’s the center for computer/electronic parts shopping in Taipei, and there is more than likely a cell phone repair shop in one of those back alleys that might do it for cheap. I usually go there for all my electronics stuff. I’ve noticed they are much more upfront about the price of things, as well, considering everything is printed out on signs above their stores. Then you can pit them against each other to give you free RAM upgrades, etc.
In your case, I don’t know what the going rates are for cell phone repair, so I can’t be of any help in that way. At least the people in Guanghua can point you in the right direction to fix the phone if they can’t/won’t do it themselves.
Thanks Mike.
I was trying to go a bit more local than that, but needs must when the devil drives.
(Of course, I’ll blame you if I come back with more computer components than intended.)
Does anyone know whether Guanghua Market would still be a good place to go for phone repair, or what a reasonable price might be nowadays?
