Hi, just moved into a new apartment in Taipei. It’s old and needs some work doing to it. My initial problem is the toilet pan. It’s totally covered in limescale and every time I take a dump, I leave a right mess and have to scrub it with a toilet brush. I need strong hydrochloric acid to dissolve the limescale. Ordinary toilet cleaners are cutting it.
Have you tried vinegar?
yeah, any acid ought to work as long as you use enough of it, and leave it on for long enough.
Have you actually drained the toilet bowl?
You can also buy crystalline citric acid in bags in hardware stores etc. It’s sold for that purpose. Ask for 檸檬酸, níngméng suān:
