Where can I find standard TCM (traditional chinese medicine) formulas like 銀解毒片?
Do I have to go to a hospital pharmacy or do people go to their local herb shop or do they have it at pharmacies that mostly stock western meds?
I prefer prepackaged herbs because they use more standardized manufacturing processes compare to a local doctor who grinds their own (which could be very old or moldy). But a reputable shop with good quality control is also good.
In the US, I often buy this brand: Planetary Herbals.
I also would prefer to skip going to an appointment with NHI for basic stuff like this common TCM formula.
I see only one or two providers on Shopee. Is buying on Shopee not common in Taiwan for tcm herbs
I would check with a TCM pharmacy and ask them. There is a fancy one up at Zhongshan N Rd, Sec 6 near Dexing Rd in Taipei (northbound side).

When you go down the stairs to the basement you will see a stationary store. Turn around 180° and you will see a tiny hallway that connects to the TCM pharmacy

As above most of the TCM pharmacies have the prepackaged stuff as well as roll your own.
They are there, you just need to find them, but most people I know would normally go to the TCM clinic/ hospital and get a prescription tailored to them at a fraction of the cost (on NHI).
In saying that the people I know who rave about TCM tend to stay away from highly processed pre packaged stuff (within reason) anyway as a lifestyle choice.
Thank you both. The hardest thing for me to figure out is what typical people do. Sounds like NHI is most common and then TCM pharmacy is second.
I often travel to damp and hot areas without easy refrigeration. So I appreciate pre-packaged for keeping on hand for 2-4 years.
For immediate use, I think tailored is probably just as good, or better.

The ingredient of formula 銀解毒片 is basically the same with 銀翹散 Yin Qiao San. You can go to any TCM pharmacy to buy “Yin Qiao San”. Tell them you need tablet form. I know many prarmaceutical company produce Yin Qiao San tablet like this one. Koda company is also the herb provider of the hospital I work for.
Since herbal medicine and herbal products can only be sold by some licensed stores, it is not legal to sell it on Shopee.
