WCIF Starcraft 2 in English?

Hello, all! I want to find a copy of Starcraft 2 in English. And, if anyone wants to play with me, that’d be awesome too! Taoyuan or Taipei, please help me accomplish my dream of traveling the stars shooting at aliens and stuff.
(Besides, there’s gotta be hawt women in space too)

I don’t think they sell an English version in any of the stores, from what I know, you can go to ruten.com.tw and some guys sell the US edition there but you need someone to help you register an account.

Unless the packaging really means something to you, I recommend you just download it directly from blizzard’s site and then purchase a license key directly (you will need a credit card for this). This way it will be all English all the time (I heard rumors that the Chinese version has Chinese sound effects too?). The region you select for play is very important since it can’t be changed later (unless they change their policy). So if you select Taiwan, you will be playing against other Taiwanese all the time. I set mine to North America so I’m always playing with others in English there.

I did see English versions at a software store in the computer district near 忠孝新生 (Zhong Xiao Xin Sheng). I can’t remember the name of the store so you’d have to walk around… The store was a few blocks from exit 1, not far from the large “computer mall” that is a few stories of all computer software, hardware, etc. I’m sure other stores around there have it as well.

My understanding is that local copies are auto set to the Taiwanese region, unless the English ones are imported from a different region, so you might want to check that out.

I am sure there must be some English versions around if people are importing them and selling them online… thanks dedsall

Why don’t you want to just download it?

I would say most of us here in Taiwan don’t have credit cards.

Yeah, I was thinking about that too. That whole region thing is the dumbest thing that Blizzard has done. Separating into regions is fine; just allow people to freely move from one to the other.

Hey guys, I should have posted this sooner but if you are looking for American copies of SC2 and don’t have a credit like me. Try ruten.com.tw, this guy here:

http://goods.ruten.com.tw/item/show?21007304505265

sells copies and sends them to 7-11 so you just need to pay for it and pick it up. I bought mines about two weeks ago and have been playing ever since. You will need a local to help you register for the site if you cannot read Chinese.
