Obviously it’s up to Celeborn to negotiate a rate with the interpreter. And its also obvious he isn’t only going to pay for an HSR ticket and a biandang.

I tend to agree, and would “assume” that in a high-tech field it goes without saying that work = pay, but at the same time, there was a horror story here on the forum about how after completing three days of work at a new job, and assuming that payment would be made for the work, an employee was suddenly informed that “the first three days were a trial. No pay.”
