I’m looking for a place that sells weight plates - preferably separately. These must fit onto a standard olympic-size barbell. I only need the smaller ones - .5kg, 1.25kg, and 2.5kg.
Anyone know of any stores - online or B&M - that sell such things in Taiwan?
No offense, but that’s pretty small weight for a barbell. The smallest I ever used was a 5kg plate. Those smaller plates belong on a dumbbell. If you are looking to do curls with a barbell, then just change your grip and the angle at which you bend your arms. The barbell is already 20 kg, adding that small weight won’t change much. Just do more reps with a diff grip and you will get the same result with the small weight added.

Those aren’t commercially available anywhere in Taiwan.
I ordered a whole bunch specifically for Formosa Fitness. We have .5kg, 1kg, 1.5kg, 2kg, and 2.5kg. They are actually useful for making micro adjustments to the weight you’re already using. I doubt the OP is talking about using them alone with the bar.
Small weights like these are crucial on some lifts like overhead/military press where a small increase in weight can make the exercise much harder. For women doing military press, they’re practically essential to make any progress.
I’m doing Starting Strength (or similar programs). My local gym has 5kg plates and up. However, when doing squats, overhead press, etc, I really don’t want to jump by 10kg (5kg each side) each time - hence the need for the micro plates.
Where did you order them from for Formosa Fitness? Anywhere that ships internationally would be OK, too.

I ordered them in bulk from a factory I no longer do business with. Sorry that i can’t help. i would offer them for sale but the local market is too small right now.
