Weekly Tennis Night at the Youth Park, Taipei

Hi all,

I am organizing a weekly tennis night on Tuesday(or a weekday the majority agree upon) at Youth Park(not too far from Shida U or from MRT CKS).

It doesn’t matter your level if we have more people joining. You probably can find your match. We can play doubles or singles. The court at night times is 300 dollars per hour. The idea situation will be having 6-8 people to book two courts, and we split the cost.

I am a local guy who loves tennis very much and dying for playing tennis everyday  . I have played tennis more than 15 years and my level is 4.0 and still upgrading  . I run very very well.

Please feel free to join me. If you are new to the sport, I believe some folks out there and I wouldn’t mind give some instructions, doing some drills…

cheers

W

300 per hour! Are you sure. That’s way too steep. I’d love to come out but I’m not paying NT1000 for an evening of tennis.

300 NT/per hour is court fees. It is actually 150 dollars at day times(before 5 pm in winder, and 6 in summer).

Do you pay 1000 NT for a tennis instructor to play with you? This is the price you pay to take a one to one tennis lesson in Taipei.

It is a tennis club I meant. Every person shares the court fees and maybe another 30 NT for balls…(because I love playing new balls each time or every other time).

I played tennis at Central Park, New York City, beautiful clay courts. It was 10 US dollars back then(three years ago).

So I guess 300 NT at night in Taipei(electricity extra) is just the right price in Taipei…

By the way, Youth Park is a sport park, city government owned by private company run…The price is controlled in the contract to keep lower fair…there are 12 these kind of facility in each distrcts in taipei.

I’ve played tennis with W almost every week over the last half a year and, having played competitive tennis for quite a while, I am happy to recommend him to anyone.

The courts are well worth the fee, very good lighting and nice surface. MM, if you play singles with someone for three hours then you’ll pay 3x300/2=450. How did you get to 1,000? (Btw I’m not sure anyone would last for three hours on that fast surface…)

Thought NT300 per hour was per person not court.

Thank you Balazs. Your leaving Taiwan is the main reason I am organizing this tennis club. I run out of tennis partner, especially good player like you. So much fun to hit balls and run once to twice a week.

Hopefully we have our first tennis meeting before you leave. How about this Sat in the afternoon?, Like 4:00 pm. I need to take full advantage of playing against you before your departure, man…
