Wei Qi/Go players in Kaohsiung?

So I was in Kaohsiung last weekend and I went to a local go club. Fun, fun, except it was smoky and dirty as hell. The club in question was on on Zhong Cheng 2nd road, IIRC. That’s not how it’s spelled on the street sign, but I can’t remember what wack spelling they actually used (grr, another topic). The zhong here is the zhong in China, Chinese, etc.

I’ll be back in Kaoshiung this summer for 5 weeks or so, and I want to play more go, but I’d like to do it in a less cancer-inducing environment if possible. Does anyone here know of other go clubs, or are there go players who’d be interested in getting together at a coffee shop or something? I’ll be bringing my board & stones with me on my trip.

Hello,

I am a french WeiChi player, I am living in Taipei, Kuting.
I am tired of playing in the go school for kid (the only place I found until now), and if you want we can play together.
I have a goban and some plastic stone that I can bring to a starbuck or else.

Vincent

I actually found a nice Go club in Taipei last time I was there. I have the card with me, but I can’t really type the Chinese. If you really want it I can scan it and post a link.

I’ll probably be in Taipei for part of my summer trip. Email me at “autarch |at| urth.org” and we can maybe get together to play.

But I’m still looking for either a clean, not-too-smokey place to play in Kaohsiung, or people to play with there. Email me or post here.
