Apologies if a thread like this has been posted before, I searched using various keywords and couldn’t find anything quite similar. I have a good friend coming to visit me in Taipei at the end of the month, who is currently busking his way around the world. Because apparently it’s less than legal to busk openly in Taipei, he asked me if I could help him find some cover gigs, essentially playing background music in a bar or cafe. (If there’s some way to get him playing at open mics or any more legitimate indoor gig that would also be wonderful, but I want to start small.) Problem is…I have no idea where or how to start looking.
For what it’s worth, he’s a really nice and gentle young guy, who plays covers and a few original songs on acoustic guitar, in the hope of finding and making connections across cultures through music. His Cantonese is passible, but he doesn’t speak any Mandarin (although 月亮代表我的心 is in his repertoire), so I’ll be doing the talking if there are any possible places to investigate.
