Just read this story that was posted on Dave’s site.
“My boyfriend tells me that if ever they want there can be poison gases coming out of the mini-scooters here by the Chinese. He said the mainland Chinese will attack with biological weapons by riding mini-scooters around Taipei emitting poisonous gasses and kill thousands of people. We just came back from Hong Kong and noticed the good feeling of less gases in the air by these scooters. Then he said that about the Chinese since it was in the paper.”
What do you think?
Should we get out while we can!!
Or perhaps by poisionous gasses he means Carbon Monoxide!

i read that thread over at dave’s as well. the idea was quickly ridiculed…however a news article the other day went on how china and her burning huge quantities of coal have directly been linked to rising mercury levels in the great lakes of north america.
it would only make sense that alot of china’s industrial pollution drops on taiwan. so, isn’t taiwan technically awash in poison from the PRC?
back in taoyuan county i was told hundreds of times not to walk in the rain without an umbrella because the acid rain would make my hair fall out.
the idea of poison spewing motorcylces just isn’t as cost efficent simple industrial pollution.
the huge amount of plastic production to make all those toys generates huge amounts of dioxin into the air, which all heads our way due to the prelaving winds. bad skin? made in China? scary.
I agree. Hong Kong is incredibly polluted with air much less fresh than Taiwan due to their close proximity to China, or wait, they are China. So sorry for you guys. I use to live in Hong Kong and on many days the government would warn you not to go outside because of the pollution in the air. Not to mention the water pollution.
Disney almost cancelled their plans for the park because of the awful pollution in HK was so unsafe they didn’t feel right to put their name on it.
HK needs to build the worlds largest electric fan and blow it all back Communist China. Oh wait, I keep forgetting they are Communist China. So sorry for you guys.

Nah… HK’s the non commie dirt breathing part. Now when I was at your place Hobart… thing’s looked nice in the evening view. But all those shimmering city lights are coming thru all that pollution you breathe up on top of that mountain in Shizih. Smoking your cigars made me feel great.
Better to be up in Alishan where the air really is clean, and I get to see the beautiful dark sky full of lovely stars. Crispy clean non air without the humidity you guys get in summer.
i believe it. no history of male (or female) baldness in my family, but seven years here and i got my a patch at age 31. there’s quite a few of us here in the same situation. stopped getting worse when i didn’t have to be out in the rain for any significant time. it’s only my experience but …
