A couple of things annoyed me about the Taiwan episode:
Which one is the 4th season? Is that the one currently running in the States now, or is it last year’s?
On TV you might try CSI… I was never a huge fan, but it seems to be on TV a couple times a night almost every day of the week here – so now and then you get some good ones. It’s growing on me.
For DVD boxed sets I like “24”. It’s another show that I never watched back home, but when you can watch a couple of them back-to-back on the DVDs then it makes it easy to get caught up in the plot.
I am hooked on CSI… I started watching it about a year ago and it’s one of my favourite shows. It’s on AXN I think over there?
as far as downloading the West Wing goes, try btefnet.net/

Six Feet Under had a greatr first season, a mediocre second and it was all downhill after that. Same problem as 24.
The West Wing has to deal with hypothetical situations, so it didn’t bother me too much about the Taiwan Free Election business. Anyway, remember that Season 3 first aired in 2001, so they weren’t that far off. Anyway, the writing is still some of the best on the tube. Sandman, I’d be happy to lend you Season 1 or 2. (I’m still in the middle of Season 3)

Yea , that ‘free election’ thing had me laughing my arse off. But it was overall good. I really had a hard cry at the end…Wont spoil it. I hate 24, and alias, nothing personal …But six feet under was okay…hmm, i’ll have to open up to something…but maoman you are dead on… WW does have some of the best writing on tv
OH MY GOD!!! THANK YOU FOR btefnet.net…it’s heaven on earth…If i don’t come out the house don’t send a search party,… Im watching all the American tv shows…
Alias…I wondered why everybody in Taiwan appeared to be speaking Cantonese. Surely producers in Hollywood aren’t that clueless, are they? Nah. Of course not.
IMHO, not any more it doesn’t. I’ve seen up to the end of Season 5 (from Ireland) and I’ve stopped caring. In the US they’re partway through Season 6. In case anyone didn’t know, Sorkin (the creator and writer/co-writer of almost every episode) left at the end of Season 4 and it really shows. The characters appear to have had complete personality transplants since then. But I agree the first two seasons were genius, the third very good. Season 4 had its moments but was less amazing. I always feel it’s a bad sign when they start ‘recycling’ plots, doing ‘very special episodes’ (ie ones with a very different theme to the usual) and bringing in big name guest stars.
Namahottie- if you want to read episode summaries as well as just downloading and watching-

Well, if you get the chance. Watch Star Trek Enterprise! I am not a trekkie fan and I haven’t watched that many star trek episodes of the past like Voyager, Generations and such with much satisfaction but Enterprise is superb! To sum up, it takes place before the original Star Trek series and it’s the first star ship to cruise space. Characters are more diverse and entertaining. Shows are great. The only recognizable face is Scott Bakula of “Quantum Leap”. And the Science Officer T’Pol is the babe in the show. eh she’s vulcan but she is still hot.
I agree, SOF. Actually, all of the ST franchises - except the first
IMO - were outstanding. I think Star Trek has consistently proven itself to be among the best television experiences in North America.
I think that’s also a little problem with it, though: North America. It’s fairly US-centric, I believe, Patric Stewart notwithstanding.
I’ve found that, in the US, Star Trek, in all its franchises, is popular with fiction writers, fiction teachers, corporate leader types, medical people, bitheads & techies, and especially hard-science people.
In fact, I think one of the great “hidden secrets” of American business is how many muckety-mucks (really pretty high up in the corporate org chart) watch Star Trek. In my experience, an amazing number watch it when they can; it seems that if they watch television at all then they all love Star Trek.
Of course, they may also explain why it’s not so popular outside N. America: the leadership style consistently displayed throughout all the ST franchises mirrors best-practice American corporate leadership.

Ohhh is that the case now? Thanks for the heads up daasgrrl. Well, that’s to be expected from the US, i have seen that with many shows, when the orginal writers leave. When the big name stars come in that’s the true sign that’s crap.
As for star trek, when does it come on? I could watch that. Im looking for little violence, degradation, etc. type programing. Hell if anyone would care to tape oprah for me, i would pay for that!!!

Are you saying that i can download from the above website? Im a little slow on the uptake with this one…
I have to disagree on this one. I thought the 2nd season was the best. The 3rd started slow, but grew on me as the season progressed. To each his own.
HBO is repeating the 3rd season every Tuesday night at 10 p.m. I believe that the 4th season will start after the completion of this second run on the 3rd season.

But why hasn’t the second season come out on DVD for us TV-challenged folk?
A really really great show, that not too many have heard of is called “Nip/Tuck” trust me on this one, it’s really really good. Download it!
Yea i heard that it’s good. When I read my Star magazine, I also see that "Desperate Housewives " is very popular. I can’t figure out how to talk on btenet
seems like downloading became something where I needed a degree from MIT !! :help:
namahottie, I love the west wing, too! my hubby and I have season 4 on DVD from China and if you wanna borrow it PM me. We are also currently compiling season 5 (only 4 episodes to go!) and we’re gonna burn those off too.
whatever the complaints, I love this show. It sure beats reality TV…
