Does anyone know where I can get Western Style Engagement Pictures done in Taiwan? Do the Bridal Photo places do these as well? We would like to wear our own clothes and do our own hair.
The bridal shops will do whatever you want. I wore my own clothes for all except a few shots in traditional clothing. We also choose our our settings and poses, refused to allow teddy bears or hearts on the pics, and so on.
What is the price range? I don’t want the corny looking posed photoshop pictures.
It depends on the number of pics you want and other variables so you need to go do your own legwork now. Also you need to make sure the shop is willing to be accommodating (and the photographer too).
u can try facebook.com/LetThereBeLightPhotography. their stuff is quite photojournalism style.
Hope that helps
You were lucky! We were forced by the photographer to hold these stupid balloons with the studio’s logo in several of our pictures. We picked a modest package, priced around 50K, but we still had to let them put ads in our pictures.
I just PM’d you with the details of a good Western wedding photographer who operates in Taipei

Not lucky. Why would you pay for something you didn’t want?
I did some last year, since I got married.
Over on AiGuo Dong Lu 愛國東路 there is a whole strip of them, right across from CKS Hall.
We got a package for 38,000 total. This included:
Huge book of 20 pictures.
Two smaller books with the same 20 pictures. (Package only included one, my wife weasled a 2nd one out of them)
Big picture in a frame to be placed on the wall. Like 2’x3’, it’s huge.
Two smaller frames on a table, like 10"x12".
Bunch of invitations for the wedding.
Hundreds and hundreds of the little wedding picture cards that you pass out to people as they leave the wedding.
The ribbon things people put on the cars here (We didn’t need this)
Some other stuff I’m forgetting.
As far as the pictures went, she got to choose 4 dresses from their pretty big selection, and I got two tuxes to wear, a basic style. I could upgrade them to other styles, but that’s extra. We then had some pictures taken in their little studio, then in 4 locations around Taipei. Outside of Taipei costs more, as they have to drag along more equipment and the makeup lady, instead of returning to the building between locations.
Then she got to borrow 3 of those dresses for the actual wedding party months afterwards. And since we were having yet another party in another country, they allowed her to take the dresses there too.
Overall, they took about 180 pictures, and had us sit down at a computer and flip through them in their little program, letting us choose which 20 to print. This was the hardest part, as they were all so nice. Each additional picture was 800nt I think… So out of all those pictures, we only got 20 of them, printed out in the books, and burned to a CD for us. But just the 20 we paid for, the others are still on their harddrives somewhere.
