There’s a pork rice place on that street that crosses yinjhuan Rd that’s the best I ever had, nowhere else comes close.

My Taiwan wife likes it but I thought it was oily.
I love it because it’s oily and flavorful, but it’s also a bit drying, so you need a bubble tea or shaved ice after

The pork rice looks good if not a bit too fatty. The poor reviews are 90% hurt feelings, which is fair enough from the details given.
Those kinds of restaurants aren’t going to bend over backwards to give you an experience. They’re basically lunchbox restaurants. They offer good food and don’t care to smile.
Honestly though most other pork rice is too freaking dry and this guy offers just the perfect combination. Could they tamp down on the fat a little bit? Sure, but I rather have this over the dry soupy crap everyone else offers any day.
lol, that would imply that there are any good restaurants here… Usually when singing Tamsui’s praises, I have to disclaim it first by saying there’s not really food here.
