What are the serving alcohol regulations near schools?

In this situation

  • Central Taipei which of course is not the same as another city or area.
  • Public tech-ish not sure school I’m guessing the students are late teens up to 22 or 23.
  • There are convenience stores across from the gate that serve alcohol. And people sit outside convenience stores day and night drinking alcohol.

There’s a proper legal restaurant across from the gate that has closed.

Is it possible to open a bar in that same restaurant space?

Or maybe open a restaurant that serves alcohol and walk the line like many places do.

Taiwan’s liquor laws are lax. In Kinmen I was invited to drink (as in, get smashed with) Kaoliang before 11 am in the public schools with a high degree of frequency. I was served alcohol in the teachers office once in a public school in Taipei. No one commented on it or thought it was out of the ordinary. As for actual laws, if no one is enforcing them, do they really exist?

Every university, that I know of, in the UK has multiple bars. Here, no chance of necking a cheeky one on campus.
