I’m looking for the largest selection as well as beers you can’t find anywhere else.
As far as Draught Beers are concerned certainly the Tavern Premier!

As far as International beers go, we do OK. Lots of Aussie stuff in bottles like VB, Coopers stout and Pale Ale, Cascade (New). More to come.
The Tavern has a good selection of drafts which we hope to match pretty soon!!
rob 123 - You must have known who would reply ( advertise) from your post.
Unless you are from the forementioned bars !!
theres a place called odeon cafe that specialises in belgian beers and has an incredible selection.
Agreed - in terms of true selection the Odeon is pretty amazing.

Love their fruit beers. I just wish they had SLO Blu, but I don’t think that’s available anywhere outside Southern California.
I couldn’t even get it in Seattle.

I agree just mention beer and these two so called captains will always find a way to push their own crap. I note that one of them posted his message at 6.46.in the morning probably still hung over.
Oily,
Actually, I was awake and getting ready for another busy day.
I suppose that advertising IS pushing your own crap after all, isn’t it!
Guilty as charged!!!
Cheers,

So when are you going to change the name to The Shannon Australian Bar? :s
Where is The Odeon cafe?
Cafe Odeon
Shi Da one here:
#23 Taishun St. Lane 40 台北市泰順街40巷23號. It’s on Lane 40 just off Longquan St.
Other one here:
Xinsheng South Road Section 3, Lane 86. A couple of doors further on than the bar, Lane 86
Cafe Odeon 2 ( close to Tai Da) is by far the better of the 2. The owner is such a nice guy and he knows his P-jee oh. It has enough room to properly support a crowd as well. Been to the Shannon a couple of times. It gets too crowded for my liking. Haven’t patronized The Tavern though. Have to give it a try.
I heard on another thread somewhere that there is a bar across the river from Tan-shui that has a great selection. Sounds like it might be interesting.
Forumosa.com needs a search engine to sort through all the threads more easily. I dunno how difficult that would be but if possible it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks peeps
Very true. And the prices are reasonable. Usually around NT$150-160 per bottle.
For the stingy, that’s extremely cheap when you consider some of the beers served there are 10-12 % alcohol.
The largest selection of beers definately goes to the bar down by Danshui (I’ll post the details of it later this week). Over 50 beers, and by far the biggest selection in Taiwan. None of the bars in Taipei can compare. Oh and rob123, there already is a search engine and there has been since the beggining. It’s the little link that says “search” at the top. Cheers.

Let me count ours once I am back in Taipei but think we are almost there and if not then will make sure we beat that number within a few days!
Cheers!

It isnt a competition

Let them compete. It only makes life better for the rest of us.
I was more implying that most does not equal the best.
Don’t worry I will not count Budweiser and Coors Lite.
Cheers!
