What Deserves Death?

I was having a talk with my wife about what a person could do to you, that makes them deserve to die, by YOu killing them. We got the basics like, if they murder my family, or rape someone I am close to. After that I kinda got stuck. My question to you is, what does a person have to do to YOU that they deserve to die by your hands?

Look at me the wrong way. :fatchance: :tic:

I’d only kill someone for self-defence, and probably I wouldn’t really intend to kill him/her.

I think my natural survival instincts are not very strong. I remember once when I was attacked by a bad bad guy, it took me a bloody long time to get over the fear of hurting another person and kick him in the nuts. But I didn’t kick hard enough anyways. It was my luck that some people came to see what the hustle and screaming was about and the guy ran away.

I wouldn’t have killed him anyway - I would have been a prefect victim but luckily he wasn’t much of a rapist and nothing happened.

I am not sure I could ever be driven to kill. I tend to be very passifistic. If it were, it would have to involve my mother or my baby brother. If it involved my twin brother, I am afraid I would not have the life left in me to kill.

i think you covered it all already.

Everything that my mother’s ex-husband did to our family.

Good thing I haven’t spotted him since the day he got thrown out for good. :fume:

Ok, I’ll bite.

Rape or kill my wife or sexually abuse or kill my son…I will kill you. No questions asked. How’s that? I will kill you or have you killed.

You want ways? I’ll take a baseball bat to your fucking head and limbs.

If you harm my loved ones in ways that are not mendable…

You got violence, boy, I got violence.

Without them, I am nothing. I fear no man.

That, and you tell me that Kobe Bryant IS the Lakers…

Hopefully I wouldn’t kill someone who committed murder or rape against me or my family.

But hopefully I would have it in me to kill to protect my family. If killing would be the only way to stop it from happening, even if it were not occuring immediately-- you know, like a premeditated strike, then I think it would be acceptable then.

Not as a backlash, but as prevention.

You talkin’ to you me.

I would only kill someone if it was urgently necessary to protect innocent life.

In situations that aren’t urgent, I wouldn’t kill a murderer at my own hands because, right now, I live in Texas. The justice system can take care of it.

Is there capital punishment in Taiwan? I need to know so I can plan ahead. :smiling_imp:

I’ve been fortunate to have studied kung fu and Tai Chi for quite a while. My current Wing Chun sifu really drills it into our heads about being humble, loosing the ego and using violence as a absolute last resort.

That being said I probably would only kill someone if I was involved in a physical fight and the opponent pulled a knife (or worse) at which point I’ve been trained to employ lethal strikes out of instinct.

What would it take to get me to commit murder or wish death on someone?

JD hit the nail on the head, except I don’t have a family, yet.

JD made me think of my nephews. I think I would seriously WANT to kill someone for doing that sort of thing, but I would also like to see said person live out their life in an unsypathetic prison. I would also be afraid that ending the person’s life ends my nephews chances of ever being able to confront them and get closure.

I think this is what the expression “You think too much” may be referring to. :lol

To protect my family and friends if the need arose at the time.
I’d like to think I wouldn’t hunt down someone who abused, maimed or killed anyone in my family or any of my friends but I really wouldn’t trust myself.

I would kill the enemy if my country was being attacked or to defend what is right in the bigger picture.

Yes.

And there is a giant sign in the airport reminding everyone that drug trafficing is a capital offence. :astonished:

What deserves death?

-I would kill abusers of animals/children/women/elderly the same way they kill animals/children/women/elderly.

I’ve chopped the heads off of fish and fowl. Would you do the same to me? :astonished:

Sounds like we got a Greenpeace activist on our hands. Maybe we should do what the French do in such cases :smiling_imp:

Did you abuse it first? Abusing it for pleasure and killing it for food are two different things.

Subject question: Mosquitoes.
I agree with the points mad in the OP message. Like most others, it’s a situation I hope I never find myself in

I am sure that if anyone abused or seriously harmed my family then I would want to kill them. I do however feel that for a society to really function then the victims of crime and their families need to be forced to take a step back. The trial and any subsequent punishment should be performed by the state, not private entities. If you were going to justify killing someone because they raped your daughter, what would you do to someone who robbed your daughter? Kick in the balls? etc etc. Not sure the rule of law would survive that kind of generalised private punishment, and without the rule of law, your family and you would be an awful lot less safe. So yes I would most certainly want to kill any bastards who rape abuse murder my family type thing, but I would also, in more considered and less stressful times, hope that I would be prevented from doing so.

As for the immediate life or death type thing, well that is a simple I/my family/innocent people live, attacker dies.

I also feel that it is wrong for the state to kill unless it is absolutely necessary, and once somebody is in custody I don’t see the necessity.

Disclaimer: None of the above applies to Taiwanese taxi drivers, Taiwanese old ladies on scooters, people with flashy lights on their cars, people who queue jump using scooter lanes or the hard shoulder, etc. I believe that I should be allowed to kill these people at will as they seem to be intent on doing the same to me or have the attitude that people in queues are beneath them which is what Hitler thought and look how he turned out. :fume:

Oh… and mossies
